Scheduling
Run a neuron after a countdown, at a set date and time, or on a repeating schedule.
Scheduling runs a neuron at a set time without you pressing Play. Schedules live in the neuron's START tab, under Schedule. When a scheduled neuron runs, the neurons connected after it start too, as they would after Play.
Add a schedule
- Open the neuron's START tab and click Schedule (or its Set up link).
- Under Schedules, click Add.
- Choose Countdown, Alarm or Recurring, and fill in the settings below. A new schedule starts as a weekly recurring one.
- Click Save schedule.
The schedule is listed under Schedules, and START's RUNS WHEN sentence includes it, for example "You press Play or its countdown runs, today at …".
Countdown schedule
A countdown runs the neuron once, after a set time. Use it to run something later today.
Under Run in, pick one of the quick choices, or type the hours (h), minutes (m) and seconds (s).
Alarm schedule
An alarm runs the neuron once, at a set date and time.
Pick one of the quick choices, such as Tomorrow 9 AM or Next Monday 9 AM, or set the Date and Time yourself.
Recurring schedule
A recurring schedule runs the neuron again and again.
- Under Repeats, choose Daily, Weekly, Bi-weekly, Monthly, Every N min or Every N hr.
- Set the details for that choice: the Days of week for Weekly and Bi-weekly, the Days of month for Monthly, or the Interval for the every-N choices.
- Set the Times of day it runs. Click + Add a time for more than one.
- Choose the Time zone.
- Under End condition, choose Run until cancelled, After a number of runs (then set the Number of runs), or On a date (then set the End date).
- Optionally add a Label, such as "Morning report".
Pause, resume or remove a schedule
Every schedule is listed under Schedules in START.
- Pause schedule stops a recurring schedule for now; it shows PAUSED. Resume schedule starts it again.
- Remove schedule deletes a schedule.
When the workflow's triggers are paused from My workflows, none of its schedules start anything, even ones that aren't paused here. A run that comes due during the pause is skipped, not run later. The canvas shows "Triggers paused. Schedules, webhooks and app events start nothing." with Resume. See Pause a workflow's triggers.
See what a schedule ran
Each scheduled run shows in the Runs section of the canvas's left rail, and on the Usage page with its time and cost.
Limits
- Countdown: up to 24 hours.
- Every N min: up to 1,440 minutes.
- Every N hr: up to 168 hours.
Common problems
This neuron is running. Schedule it once the run finishes.
You can't add a schedule while the neuron is running. Wait for the run to finish, then add the schedule.
A run is already scheduled for this time
A neuron can't have two schedules for the same moment. Pick a different time, or remove the other schedule first.
Couldn't save the schedule
Check that every field is filled in and in range, for example a countdown longer than zero, or an alarm in the future. Then click Save schedule again.
A schedule didn't run
Check whether the workflow's triggers are paused: its card on My workflows shows Paused, and the canvas shows "Triggers paused." Click Resume on the canvas, or Resume triggers in the card's menu. Runs that came due during the pause are not run later.
The schedule ran at the wrong hour
A recurring schedule runs in the Time zone you chose for it, which may differ from your own. Open the schedule and check its time zone.
