Publishing and updates
Publish a new version of your agent, say what's new, and see what people with the old version get.
After you publish an agent to the Store, you can keep improving the workflow and publish updates. Each update gets a new version number and a short note on what's new, shown on the agent's Store page. People move to the new version when they choose to.
Publish an update
A published workflow is read-only, so you unpublish it, change it, and publish again.
- In the canvas's top bar, open the listing button (for example Public on Store) and choose Unpublish to edit, then Unpublish. The agent leaves the Store until you publish again; people who already have it keep using it. Unpublishing also removes the memory that shipped with the agent: people's existing setups lose the memories marked From the Builder. Your next publish ships a new set with the new version.
- Change the workflow and test it. Run each flow once if you want its example on the Store page to show the new version.
- Click Publish. The Publish studio opens with your earlier settings and pages filled in; change what you need. See Publishing your agent.
- Under THIS RELEASE, choose what kind of change it is:
- Small fix: bug fixes and small corrections.
- New feature: something new that doesn't change how the agent is used.
- Big change: it works differently from before, such as removed features or changed inputs.
- On the Store page tab, under What's new, write a short note for people, for example "Improved the summary and fixed empty inputs". It is required. The note shows the new Version number.
- Click Publish to the Store (or Publish and share for a Shared agent).
Each update moves to a new version number. The update of an agent with a price, a royalty or a fixed fee goes through review before people get it; a free agent's update is listed right away.
If the Store page's Preview says the screens changed since the Store's images were made, click Refresh preview to make new ones.
Change the Store page without a new version
To change only who can use it, the price or the pages, you don't need to unpublish. Choose Change who can use it from the listing button, make your changes and click Save changes. See Change a published agent.
Where people see your notes
Your note appears under What's new on the agent's Store page, with the version number and its date. Version history shows the notes of earlier versions.
What people get after an update
- Setups in My agents: each setup stays on the version it was made from. Once your update is live in the Store, the setup says A newer version is out and offers New setup. A new setup runs the latest version.
- Price changes: if you changed the price, royalty or fixed fees, a person who bought an earlier version sees the new terms before they make a new setup, and pays only the price difference. Their existing setups keep the terms they were made with.
- Agent flows in other workflows: an agent flow added as Copy stays as it was; one added as Reference (only possible with your own agents) follows your updates. See Agent flows.
Limits
- What's new note: up to 2,000 characters.
Common problems
The publish button is greyed out
The What's new note is empty. Hover over the button to see "Say what changed under What's new.", then write a short note on the Store page tab.
People still see the old version
An update of an agent with a price, a royalty or a fixed fee waits for review before it goes live. After that, each person gets it when they make a new setup; existing setups stay on their version.
The listing went back to Pending review
Updates to agents with a price, a royalty or a fixed fee are reviewed like the first listing. The top bar shows Pending review until the update is approved. People who already have the agent keep using it meanwhile. While it is in review, the agent isn't on the Store and can't be added.
